Washington Center Events:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!!!
The month of March we celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday! We had a local high school student (Cecilia) complete some community service hours by dressing up as the Cat and The Hat. She read each group a story and posed for pictures! She also played ball with our toddlers in the gym! We had so much fun and the kids loved it!
Month Of The Young Child:
The month of April is spent focusing on the young children we serve. We try to get as much of our community involved as we can to show them what the children learn and how much they grow being in an early learning program like ours! We have a few events planned:
April 15th: Family Friday- Celebrations Around the World & 20th Anniversary Celebrations
April 18th: Community Literacy Day
We will be focusing on the Caterpillars and Butterflies, Wind & Kites and Insects and Bugs!!
Community Literacy Day: April 18th
For the Month of The Young Child we host a literacy event for members of the community to come in and read a story with a small group of children and complete an activity with them based on the story. It is such a great experience for the children to see members of the community that truly care about them. This is a picture from last year's Literacy Day.
This year also marks the 20th Anniversary of SMARTKIDS!!!
